Uruguay beat South Korea by 2-1

Uruguay advances to quarter finals in FIFA 2010 World Cup after beating South Korea by 2-1 goal difference. This victory for Uruguay takes its country to quarter finals after the long period of 40 years.

The key player of Uruguay Ajax striker Suarez scored his first goal in the 8th minute of the match. Then after completing the first half, in the second half that is at the 68th minute, Lee Chung-yong of South Korea scored a fantastic head goal and bring back their hopes for this crucial Knock-out match.

Till then, South Korea's ball possession was fantastic but after leveling the score, Uruguay started to take the ball possession immediately and they have did it at the 80th minute. Yes, Uruguay haven taken the corner advantage though they have not scored by this corner, Suarez takes the advantage again and strike the ball towards the goal post.

This goal brings down the hopes of South Korea though they have made best struggling on the field after the 2nd goal of Uruguay. Uruguay after their struggling 40 years, they have reached the Quarter finals by defeating at the Knock-Out match. The match was held at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium.

Argentina beat South Korea by massive 4-1

Argentina beat South Korea by scoring 4 goals against South Korea. Real Madrid's Gonzalo scored a hat-trick which paves the easy way for the victory over this asian team.

Argentina after winning two matches of the group matches, steps ahead to second round of FIFA 2010. The match was held at Soccer City on Thursday.

Higuain made his hat-trick with the goal by head in the 80th minute of the game. South Korea socred its consolation goal after the end of the first half and the goal was hit by Lee Chung-yong. But the goal was failed to control by Argentina Defender Martin even it seems to be simple ball.

The result left Argentina top of the group with six points from their opening two matches followed by South Korea with three from their first two games.

Argentina seems to be in good form in this FIFA tournament and the World Class players like Messi, Carlos, Angel di Maria bringing out their fantastic and marvelous talent on the field.

First Goal in FIFA 2010 - RSA Vs Mexico ends in a Draw (1-1)


Siphiwe Tshabalala of South Africa scored the first goal in the FIFA world cup 2010 edition against Mexico on friday. This man entered into the world cup record books after hitting the goal in the first match of FIFA world cup 2010.
19th FIFA world cup 2010 first match was played between the host South Africa and Mexico at Soccer City Stadium in Johannesburg. In the first half of the match, no goals were scored by any team. But in the second half, at 55th minute of the match, Tshabalala hit the goal against Mexico which brings the first goal of this edition.

Mexico Skipper Rafael Marquez brings down the RSA dream of winning the first match by scoring a goal when only 11 minutes left for the game to end.

This led the fans leave the stadium after the First Match in Group A between RSA and Mexico ended as a 1-1 draw.

FIFA 2010 World Cup Opening Ceremony


FIFA world cup 2010, the very biggest sports event on the world kicks off with the massive opening ceremony at Johannesburg. R Kelly's stunning performance made the audience jumps off at the stadium. The crowd reaches a number of more than 84000 at the opening ceremony. Kelly performance was the highlight with his Soweto Spiritual Singers.

Though the start of FIFA 2010 at South Africa was great, absence of Nelson Mandela for the inauguration is of great miss for the FIFA inaugural event. Absence is because Mandela's grand duaghter today met with accident and she died in a car crash.
South Africa is going to play with Mexico in the opening game of world cup 2010 on Friday i.e today. The host will get extra boost as they have more supporters than others. France is ready to play against Uruguay in the second match on Friday.

Mr. Zuma was thrilled as he launched opening concert and he thanked FIFA to bring the event first time on African soil. Mr. Zuma said,

“We would like to thank Fifa for the decision to bring the World Cup for the first time to the continent of Africa. We would like to thank South Africans for having received our visitors so warmly. I want to ask you to show this warmness for the whole tournament.”

Black Eyed Peas, Alicia Keys, John Legend, and Shakira steal the show with their magnificent performances. Shakira performed before an international crowd at the Orlando Stadium in Soweto, South Africa, on the first night of the World Cup.Shakira performed “Waka Waka,” which is the official song of the 2010 FIFA World Cup.

2010 World Cup set to feature 3D televised matches

On the last week of december Sony Corporation and FIFA announced an agreement for selected media rights of the 2010 FIFA worls cup in 3D.This will be the worlds first biggest sporting event to be filmed in 3D.Thanks to Sony's 3D professional camera, we can see the moves of worlds best atheletes in the real depth, vividness and excitement.FIFA will utilise Sony's knowledge and experience in 3D technology to spread the passion onside the stadium to more people than ever before.

FIFA 2010 World Cup Draw Results


More than 3000 people were present during the FIFA 2010 World Cup draw at the Cape Town International Convention Centre, which creates enthusiasm for Football fans to find out their team opponents in the respective group stage of the month-long tournament comes to an end.

Organizers fielded three Nobel Prize winners including Nelson Mandela while David Beckham and South Africa’s most glamorous export, actress Charlize Theron, helped host the ceremony.

“We feel privileged and humbled that South Africa that has been given the singular honor of being the African host country,” Mandela said in a video message. Totally 32 countries have been sorted into the eight seperate groups that will play in the opening stage match of the World Cup 2010.

Teams in the same group play each other once, with the top two squads in each cluster advancing to the round of 16.

Here are the eight groups for the 2010 World Cup:

Group A: South Africa, Mexico, Uruguay, France

Group B: Argentina, Nigeria, South Korea, Greece

Group C: England, USA, Algeria, Slovenia

Group D: Germany, Australia, Serbia, Ghana

Group E: Netherlands, Denmark, Japan, Cameroon

Group F: Italy, Paraguay, New Zealand, Slovakia

Group G: Brazil, North Korea, Ivory Coast, Portugal

Group H: Spain, Switzerland, Honduras, Chile
