Robin Soderling beats Roger Federer in French Open

Robin Soderling was the man to beat Roger Federer in the Grand Slam French Open 2010. The Swiss man was sat down after his 3-6, 6-3, 7-5, 6-4 defeat by Soderling. This match put an end for Roger to the 23 consecutive grand slam semi finals since 2004.

"They all come to an end at some stage," Federer said of his first failure to reach the last four of a major since Gustavo Kuerten beat him in the third round at Roland Garros in 2004.

Robin Soderling has played second fiddle to Roger Federer 12 times in his career. The match held for 150 minutes which tells the story of a very good fight indeed.

Last year Soderling was defeated by Roger in a straight sets to win the title. It was some embarassing situation which made inevitable for Roger though he defeated Nadal in the quarter finals.

Roger Federer will now get ready to pack his bags for Wimbledon to maintain his defending title at London.

Roger quoted "I really felt like my tennis was good enough to come here and do it again, but that was not the case today," he said. "You move on, move on to the grass and forget it a little bit."

Go for it Roger !!!
