Rafael Nadal is world No 1


Rafael Nadal has proved himself that he is the king of the tennis. He has won the french open final and bagged the grand slam title on sunday.

Robin Soderling got defeated by Nadal and Nadal achieved this title in a straight sets of 6-4, 6-2, 6-4. Nadal not only topped the ATP list, also he was the second man to take five titles at Roland Garros after the great Bjorn Borg.

It was the fifth French Open title for Nadal at Roland Garros, achieved in only six years.

Soderling moved up one place in the rankings to a career-high sixth while Argentina's Juan Martin del Potro, who missed the French Open while he recovers from wrist surgery, dropped to eighth.

Tennis-Men's world rankings


Wimbledon champion Roger Federer stayed ahead of Rafael Nadal and Andy Murray at the top of the men's tennis rankings, published by the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) Monday.The Swiss Federer had dethroned Spanish rival Nadal last week after 10 and a half months at the top.Federer stays top, while Roddick moves one step up in ATP rankings.

ATP top 10 as of July 13 (previous ranking in parenthesis):
